Common FAQs on CEREC Crowns in Lincoln
Receiving the news that your tooth needs to be repaired with a crown may feel daunting, especially when you consider the time it takes to complete the procedure. A crown procedure requires at least two long appointments, and 2-4 weeks to complete. Not to mention if you have any issues with your temporary crown, you may need additional appointments. How will you ever get this done? Vacek Family Dentistry wants you to know there’s a better way, and we’re proud to offer CEREC technology in our office. CEREC has revolutionized the crown procedure and we’re here to answer a few of the common questions we hear about CEREC crowns in Lincoln.
What is CEREC?
CEREC is a computer aided milling machine that allows our doctors to design and fabricate a high quality, porcelain restoration in our office during one simple appointment. This means that you’ll leave our office the same day with a customized and completed crown that you can trust and rely on.
How Does CEREC Work?
Using 3D technology, we scan an image of your tooth, which Dr. Vacek or Dr. Gufford will use to create your crown. The image is scanned to our milling machine, which fabricates your tooth on the spot using porcelain that we can custom shade to match your existing teeth and complement your smile.
What are the Benefits of CEREC?
Besides the efficiency it offers with same-day dentistry, CEREC offers numerous other benefits to patients such as:
- Durable and aesthetically appealing dental restorations
- No messy impressions to endure
- No unreliable temporary crowns to deal with
CEREC has truly made getting a crown a more comfortable and streamlined process for patients at Vacek Family Dentistry. Dr. Vacek has been working with CEREC for over a decade, and he even trains other doctors across the country on how to use the system, so you can rest assured that you’re in the hands of an expert when you choose our practice for your dental care.
